Students will gain clinical experience in working with the elderly, the mentally ill, and the disabled. The course runs for 30 days and upon completion, students will have the knowledge and skills needed to obtain employment in the health care industry.
Students will be trained in observation skills, monitoring vital signs, body mechanics, communication skills, infection control, care of pressure ulcers, disease process/disorders, restorative nursing, safety, and the state survey process. After completing the required classroom and clinical hours necessary for certification, students can test at our site and have access to job placement assistance.
Students may be eligible for tuition assistance through the Mahoning Valley Partnership for Employment grant program.
